Part-time Explorers Educator

The Program:

Explorers is an experiential education program. We partner with 3rd - 5th grade classrooms in the Richmond Public Schools (RPS) and Henrico County Public Schools (HCPS) districts. Each partner school participates in field trips in the Richmond area; these trips incorporate team-building activities designed to build/help students recognize resilience skills, experiential lessons correlated with Virginia Standards of Learning, and nature exploration.

Job Details:

Time Frame: late August through April

Work day: 9 AM – 1:30 PM Tuesday through Friday

Pay: Educators are compensated at a rate of $18/hour

Hours: approximately 18 hours/week

The Program:

Explorers is an experiential education program. We partner with 3rd - 5th grade classrooms in the Richmond Public Schools (RPS) and Henrico County Public Schools (HCPS) system. Each partner school participates in field trips in the Richmond area; these trips incorporate team-building activities designed to build/help students recognize resilience skills, experiential lessons correlated with Virginia Standards of Learning, and nature exploration. As one of the bus drivers, you will ensure students make it to site of the day and back to the school.

Job Details:

Time Frame: September 2026 through April 2027

Work day: 8 AM – 2:00 PM Tuesday through Friday; Occasional trips extend to 3:00 PM; Driver is assigned to 1-4 trips a week

Pay: Bus Drivers are compensated at a rate of $25-$30/hour

Hours: approximately 5-30 hours/week

*Employment is contingent on training for and successful attainment of Class B CDL-P (passenger endorsement) certification [approximately 120 hours], including air brake certification.
